The Ventura Chamber of Commerce pursues economic partnerships
throughout the region, ensuring our business partners are able to
compete in the global market.
The Chamber works in partnership with the City of Ventura to provide
resources for businesses in an ever changing economy.
Understanding business needs and offering innovative, viable solutions
is part of the Chamber’s effort to improve business recruitment,
retention and expansion. Attracting high value jobs and businesses
to match our workforce and entrepreneurial community is our objective.
Being an advocate for potential commercial space, an efficient permit
approval process, affordable housing, services and pro-business
leadership is part of the Chamber’s purpose.
The Chamber continues to be engaged as the city initiates the
implementation of the General Plan and all of its components. The
Chamber membership strongly recommends that the implementation plans and
strategies to improve the process of getting development projects
through city hall be made top priority and we are ready and willing to
make this a reality.

America’s Schools - The
Ventura Chamber of Commerce, Ventura Commerce and Education Foundation
and the America's Schools Program have teamed up to help preserve the
environment and fund educational programs by recycling printer
cartridges and cell phones. 50% of all proceeds go to support its
programs and its membership. The other 50% goes to the America's Schools
Program to support K-12 schools across California. This program is
in partnership with and under the auspices of the State School Boards
Associations throughout the country.
Better Business Bureau (BBB) - The
Better Business Bureau system in the U.S. extends across the nation;
coast-to-coast, and in Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico. Since the
founding of the first BBB in 1912, the BBB system has proven that the
majority of marketplace problems can be solved fairly through the use of
voluntary self-regulation and consumer education. The BBB's Core
Services include: Business Reliability Reports; Dispute Resolution; Truth-in-Advertising; Consumer and Business Education; and Charity Review.

Service Corp of Retired Executives (S.C.O.R.E.) - SCORE "Counselors to America's Small
Business" is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education
and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide.
SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration
(SBA). SCORE's 10,500 volunteer counselors have more than
600 business skills. Volunteers are working or retired business owners,
executives and corporate leaders who share their wisdom and lessons

Small Business Development Center (S.B.D.C.) - The Ventura County Small
Business Development Center provides small business owners with one-stop
access to free business consulting, planning, marketing and training
programs. Additionally, SBDC assists small business owners in achieving
their goals of growth, increased productivity, expansion and overall
success. Training opportunities for small businesses are available
through the Ventura College SBDC offices. SBDCs are programs
supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration and extended to the
public on a non-discriminatory basis.
Technology Development Center (TDC) -
The mission of the Technology Development Center is to enhance the
employability of our students by providing innovative, competency-based
vocational training and professional certification for those wishing to
develop occupational skills leading to initial job entry, or to upgrade
skills leading to career advancement or retraining.
Workforce Investment Board (WIB)
- Established by Executive Order in response to the mandate of the
federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998, the Board assists the
Governor in setting and guiding policy in the area of workforce
development. WIB has developed three major priorities to be
supported by its ongoing work: “Promoting workforce education and
academic curricula that meets business and economic needs”, “Forming
partnerships in support of workforce issues”, and “Developing the Job &
Career Centers - an essential resource for job seekers and businesses.”
