How to Do Business with Public Agencies

Through its Ventura Commerce and Education Foundation the chamber partnered with Assemblyman Pedro Nava to combine his Business Resource Expo and our How to Do Business with Public Agencies into one extremely educational event.

Three one hour workshops were held in the morning to introduce themselves and the process by which business can do business with their respective agencies.  During these workshops there was ample time for a question and answer period. 

Workshops were held by: City of Ventura, City of Oxnard, County of Ventura, Channel Islands National Park, Ventura Unified School District, Ventura County Office of Education, Ventura Community College District, CSU Channel Islands, California Department of General Services, California Department of Transportation, United States Naval Surface Warfare Center, Southern California Gas Company and Southern California Edison.

This year’s event was held April 20th 2007 at the Four Points by Sheraton.

Additional participating agencies hosted booths and met with attendees to provide specific information on becoming a contractor: AT&T, California Board of Equalization, California Department of Corporations, California Employment Development Department, California Employment Training Panel, California Department of Insurance, California Public Utilities Commission, Economic Development Corporation of Oxnard, Economic Development Collaborative of Ventura County, United States Internal Revenue Service, United States Naval Surface Warfare Center, United States Department of Commerce, United States General Services Administration, Women’s Economic Ventures, Gold Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Oxnard Chamber of Commerce, Ventura Chamber of Commerce, Pacific Coast Business Times, Ventura County Small Business Development Center, United States Commercial Service-Export Assistance Center, United States Small Business Administration, California Franchise Tax Board, California Department of Rehabilitation, County of Ventura Purchasing Division, Service Corps of Retired Executives and California State Beach.
