Ventura Film Office

The Ventura Chamber of Commerce is exploring the feasibility of creating a film office to promote the City of Ventura.  Research is required in two specific areas:  Financial Business Plan and the Marketing Plan.  A one to five year business plan is required to secure the initial funding for the film office.  It is the desire of the chamber to enlist the services of a team to conduct research for each of the components of the business plan.
 
Meetings have been held with representation from the City of Ventura, Technology Development Center, Ventura College, Brooks Institute of Photography, CSU Channel Islands, Santa Barbara Business College, Seaside Park, Ventura Visitors & Convention Bureau, California State Parks, Ventura Harbor District, ECDC of Oxnard, Limoneria, Farm Bureau of Ventura County and the Ventura Commerce and Education Foundation.
 
It is the belief of all parties that creating a central film office will help build the local economy through tourism and by use of local businesses in the filming process. 
 
Research is currently underway to establish the film office and is targeted for completion in the 4th quarter of 2007.  This program has had a board of advisors from the Ventura Chamber of Commerce, Kaiser Permanente, Ventura Port District, Technology Development Center, City of Ventura, Economic Development Collaborative, Farm Bureau of Ventura County, California Department of Parks and Recreation, Brooks Institute of Photography, Mind Control and CAPS TV.
