Ventura Chamber of CommerceThe Ventura Chamber of Commerce was established as a business organization in 1899 and was incorporated as the San Buenaventura Chamber of Commerce in 1934.  The chamber is a 501 (c) 6 non-profit organization and is led by a Board of Directors of twenty one business leaders from throughout Ventura and a professional Chamber Staff of six.  Through our divisions; Business Development, Governmental Affairs, Membership Services, Community Development, Communications and Finance we are supported by well informed, highly committed business leaders in Ventura.

Keep up to date with our monthly newspaper the Ventura Business which has a circulation of 15,000.  It is delivered to all businesses licensed in the city of Ventura, our database and on 20 racks located around the city.  Members receive additional updates, offers and information through their exclusive e-newsletter ChamberLINKS.  Finally, for a glimpse of the state of the economic vitality in Ventura take time to view Business in Ventura.

As we accumulate our accomplishments each year we report back to our membership and community with an annual report and Business Plan which also includes our goals for the upcoming year.  We present this report at the State of the Chamber in January as we install our new board members and officers.  Much of our direction is guided by membership surveys we conduct at least twice a year.  To familiarize yourself with our leadership please visit the Message from the Chairman and the Message from the President.

The Ventura Chamber of Commerce is a valuable partner to businesses large and small in its ongoing drive to improve the local economy and promote a business friendly environment in our city, county and state.  Each year we host events to inform, educate and involve not only our membership but the entire Ventura business community. In June we host the Economic Outlook breakfast to share demographic and statistical information collected; as presented by the UCSB Economic Forecast Project.  We also hold periodic focus groups called Key Executive Roundtables to hear from top business leaders who may or may not be chamber members to tap into the needs of the greater business community.

The Chamber works on behalf of the business community to sustain the vitality of the City’s economic base. By honoring the City’s history and traditions, the Chamber worked in partnership with elected officials to create a community of the future.  Each February we host the Ventura State of the City breakfast to allow city leadership the opportunity to share their accomplishments and visions.

Our member businesses have exclusive opportunities to market, advertise and promote themselves with the chamber.  Many choose to become part of the Chairman’s Circle program to maximize their investment.  This program allows a one-time commitment for all advertising and sponsorships for the businesses’ membership year.  There are also additional benefits only available to Chairman’s Circle members.

We take every opportunity to support our member businesses.  Our Business Directory is a very popular feature we use to promote referrals from individuals who call or visit the office or use our website.  We offer chamber and collaborative Business Services to as needed to help a business grow and develop.  Our annual Ventura Business Marketplace & Conference allows business to exhibit themselves with booths and educational seminars each Fall.  Please take some time to familiarize yourself with our Membership Benefits through the Membership Services division.  Feel free to find out what meetings, events and functions are on the horizon by viewing our Chamber Calendar.  Once you realize the full capacity of our chamber we are certain you would like to Join us as soon as possible.

Through collaborative partnerships, the Chamber is committed to defining issues and encouraging actions that will result in well-balanced solutions improving the quality of life for all Venturans.  Our Ventura Commerce and Education Foundation (VCEF) has participated in the creating of a number of programs in order to benefit the community as a whole.  Follow these links to learn about the Leadership Ventura program, Coastal Marine Biolab, Principal for a Day, How to Do Business with Public Agencies, America’s Schools Program, Ventura Film Office and Ventura City Corps.
