Principal for a Day
The Ventura Commerce and Education Foundation is pleased to support
the efforts of our local Ventura Unified School District, its schools
and staff by coordinating the Principal for a Day program each spring.
Have you ever heard a young person ask “Why do I Need to learn history,
math, chemistry, etc., I’ll never use it?†As an employer you know how
important it is to have well trained, skilled employees, and how
valuable basic skills are.
This is your opportunity to spend the day observing what our schools are
doing to prepare the youth of today for our future.
By participating in “Principal for a Day†you will interact with school
administrators, teachers and students.
Through this experience you will:

Spend the morning (8 AM – 11:15 AM) in one of Ventura Unified School District’s 27 schools

Begin a dialogue between the business and education community

Share with each other the daily workplace and education challenges

Share knowledge to discover solutions to those challenges

Conclude the day with an open and honest dialogue over lunch (11:30 AM – 1:30 PM) to discuss the morning’s events and future collaboration.
